This first of its kind in Nebraska demonstration project, developed by Sol Systems for the City of Norfolk, is an 8.5-megawatt (MW) community solar farm paired with a 1 MW/2MWh battery storage component. The solar farm is both the largest solar project and first large-scale battery storage project in the state of Nebraska.
The solar farm is part of Nebraska Public Power District's (NPPD) Sun-Wise community solar program, providing individuals in the Norfolk area the ability to subscribe to energy produced by the project directly towards their energy bills.
